MARHABA CASTOR OIL:

(Natural Product) EMOLLIENT AND DOMESTIC PURGATIVE

Description:

Castor oil is a colourless to faint yellow, high viscosity, viscid fixed oil with acrid taste obtained from the seeds of the Ricinus commnis.

Composition:

Castor Oil consists of the glaciered of ricinoleic, isorinoleic, stearic and dihydroxy stearic acids.

Dosage and Administration:
Internally:
Adults:

30-50 ml as single dose dispersed in hot milk at bed time for constipation, colic and as gastric lavage in poisoning may be repeated after 1 day.
40-50 ml dispersed in hot milk before childbirth, colon x-ray and lithotomic.
10-20 ml as single dose with rose water or milk for constipation and may be repeated after 1 day.

Externally:

1-2 drops in eye and 2-3 drops in the ear.
20-30% in hair oil preparation.

Contraindications:

Castor oil is well tolerated and is one of the safest drug in constipation but it’s use in pregnancy is avoided due to it’s emmenagoue properties.

Precautions:

Repeated use may cause electrolytic imbalance and dehydration.
Contact physician if the symptoms persist.
